Creating Charm Through Details

Sometimes homes can feel a bit cookie-cutter, like they are lacking some special touches. Make your own charm inside your home! Here are some simple, inexpensive ways to increase charm:

Board and Batten

Pick a hallway in your home or maybe the dining area to add a little flair. Take your ordinary walls to glam in a few easy steps! Go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and buy some lattice and 1×3” pine boards. Measure your walls, cut the wood accordingly, sand, assemble, and paint! It’s that easy.

Replace Doors

If you have a door to your pantry or laundry room you’re feeling you can part with, let it go! Replace the solid door with a glass one. Either clear glass or frosted glass will bring extra charm to the room through simple details.

Lighting

Add a chandelier to the dining room or to the front foyer. Chandeliers make a bold statement in such a subtle way it’s sure define your style and complete the look you’re after.

Add a Built-In

Whether it be in the living room, dining room, or even in your closet, built-ins create a charm so unique to your home. Have the design of the built-in resemble the architecture in the home so maintain balance within the design aspects and the built-in will look as though it has always belonged in the home!
